Why the Work You Doubt Might Be the Work Someone Else Needs Most
I could never have imagined that my work could impact another person quite significantly.
In 2020, I wrote a lot of articles, especially on Women of Manipur, but published them in various online journals. Unfortunately, they didn’t count towards my promotion, as they weren’t published in UGC CARE-listed or Scopus-indexed journals.
Those articles were a waste of my time and effort.
That was what I thought until today.
A student came to meet me. She was gushing with joy, overflowing with gratitude, for she had wanted to meet me for some time and got the chance just today. When we finally met, she couldn’t contain her excitement.
And the reason why?
She had read my article on “Empowerment of Women in Manipur,” and told me it was exactly what she needed. It offered a comprehensive, well-structured foundation for her research. She said she and many other students often refer to my work, and my work was cited in many articles.
