here are a few more little things that have been making ordinary days feel a little softer:
- lighting up my bedside lamp after 10 PM and letting the cozy vibes take over.
- intentionally planning little activities with your friends instead of just “hanging out.”
my friend recently showed me her makeup collection and we spent an evening trying everything on together. such a simple memory but so much fun.
- keeping a pressed flower from every bouquet you’ve ever received in a little glass jar.
tiny reminders of people, moments and seasons you’ll always carry with you<3
- thrifting clothes instead of always buying new ones.
there’s something magical about digging through racks and finding a piece that feels like it was waiting for you.
- lighting a scented candle before bed on slow weekends.
- doing yoga once or twice a week alongside my strength training routine. it slows my mind down in the gentlest way.
- creating more than you consume.
i’m still learning this one but every time I choose making over mindless scrolling, i feel a little more like myself.
- expressing yourself creatively in whatever way feels natural.
writing, painting, baking, playlists, journaling, it all counts.
- giving people handwritten notes for absolutely no reason, just because.
- romanticising the mundane. this one never really gets old, does it?
- making your coffee or matcha at home instead of buying one every time.
- exchanging music, book, movie or podcast recommendations with people.
i feel incredibly lucky to have friends who are so generous with the things they love. we get to borrow little pieces of each other’s worlds:)
- celebrating endings and failures just as much as your wins.
i bought myself a sweet treat the day I resigned from a place that no longer felt right. somehow that felt worth celebrating too.
- taking a few minutes to pray or meditate. it always brings me back to myself.
- being generous with compliments.
i once read, “appreciate people more than you want to and criticize them less than you want to.” i’ve been trying to live by that ever since.
