A reunion overdue
Brie cringed at the sign sagging above the gymnasium door. “A decade is too long without you.” Ten years hadn’t been long enough to separate herself from these people. Especially after what happened the past year. She wouldn’t have even come if it wasn’t for Jessica’s call and deep-seeded people pleasing tendencies. It had been her downfall in all aspects of life. Obviously.
Her eyes scanned the room as she walked through the door, looking for THEM. Them with their smug smiles and apologetic eyes. Brie didn’t see his tailor-made suit or her designer gown. Safe for now. Time to scope out the best shadowed corner to hide. At least until her speech put her on full display.
“Aubriella?”
The skirt of her black cocktail dress floated around her knees as she turned to the sound of the voice. Low, deep, belonging to the only person she’d wanted to see tonight. The only one who’d ever called her by her full name.
“Flynn.” Her voice filled with warmth as she took in the sight of him, grateful he still wanted to see her after what she’d done.
Then…
“Flynn?” A slim cut suit fit every contour of his honed body. Floppy hair cropped close, clear skin that made his blue eyes even more piercing. The boy she’d hurt had been replaced by a man…
