Everything in you wants to do the thing. Start a new hobby, go to the gym, date the person, start a new job. But you haven’t done it. You’re researching more, learning and making the plan. So when will you turn the information into action? You can read every book in the world, talk about it until the well of words runs dry, and you still need to take that final step. Do. It.
The first step is the absolute most intimidating. I get it. We’ve all been there. Here’s a pointer, stop looking at the entire staircase, breathe. Now take the first step. See that? You did it. And let that first step fuel the next one. And the next. Oop. Some doubt crept in? Do the exact OPPOSITE of what the doubt is telling you. This is how you build trust, confidence, inner power. You’re showing up for yourself.
When we have an itch to start something new, it often begins as a nudge, an interest, a “what if”. The adrenaline rush of it feels like a full body high. And then it dissipates. And then we get stuck in a loop of ideas and non action, look around and someone else is doing the exact thing you had the idea for, and never committed to. Why is this happening? What am I doing wrong? Maybe some envy that someone else did it. It’s your soul, nervous system/inner child, and subconscious mind all running on different programs.
