From Venting to Victory
There was a time when my mom was on the receiving end of hour-long phone calls.
I’d go on and on about the same workplace nonsense: people who smile in meetings but throw shade behind the scenes. The quiet betrayals. The ones who can’t stand anything good happening if it’s not their idea.
She always listened. Never judged. Just let me process.
But this time, the call was different.
This time, I called to tell her I felt the growth.
That I’ve reached the point where instead of reacting, I recognize when someone’s just trying to pull me into the mud — and I step right over it.
