Living in a well-off family, in a big house, getting almost everything I want but not the things I want the most, affection. The house feels empty without it, without the love I’ve been craving so badly from my parents, my siblings, and everyone who lives in it.
Growing up, I’ve been carrying all the heavy weight on my own shoulders. Faking all the emotions I show to everyone I meet, and struggling alone was never something I wanted.
Maybe it’s always been you,
standing alone,
picking up your own shattered pieces,
learning how to breathe in a world
that never held you gently.
Looking for warmth and affection from others, only to end up feeling like a burden. Maybe no one will ever truly care about you the way you hope except yourself. No one will save you from everything. in the end, it’s always you who has to save yourself.
So what’s the point of living?
What was I made for?
I was given what I asked for,
but never what I truly needed
a quiet kind of love,
the kind that stays without being begged for.
Deep down, I do need someone who can show me love, what love really is, how it feels to be loved and cared for. How it feels to receive the affection I’ve been craving all this time. It’s just sad that I’ve been waiting for that moment to come. hoping one day, the love I’ve been searching for will finally find me. And i hope the waiting and the longing doesn’t make me forget how to believe in it.
