Short Story of The Copy-Paste King of Hinge
Non-members can read it HERE.
I have been back on dating apps for a hot minute. I am more entertained than feeling hopeful.
“Hi Anita, it is nice matching with you, apologies I am so terrible on here. What’s on for this weekend? I am old school and prefer to catch up in person, here is my Instagram — @whattotalBS”.
Lovely message, except my name is not Anita…
This was not the first ‘copy-paste, can’t-be-bothered-to-change-her-name’ message I’d gotten that week. It has become brain rot at this point, a whole genre of man who has one message and fifteen darts in hand seeing which one landed.
Initially, I thought this man wants some new Instagram followers… Turns out it’s so much worse, by the time I saw his message, his location was already set back to another city, this legend of a man was just in town for the weekend, rushing to secure himself a temporary girlfriend before his flight. Efficient, if nothing else.
I replied: “lol so did Anita respond?”
Him: “Hahahahahahaha”
“XIN!”
End of story.
