People say love heals.
People say love gives us strength.
People say love makes life worth living.
And maybe they’re right.
But nobody talks about what happens when the person you love becomes the source of your deepest sorrow.
Can someone become sick because of love?
I think so.
Not because love itself is a disease.
But because the heart and the body have never been as separate as people think.
When the heart hurts long enough,
the body begins to listen.
Sleep becomes difficult.
Food loses its taste.
The days become heavier.
The nights become longer.
The mind grows tired.
And eventually,
the body follows.
Perhaps that is why some people look healthy on the outside while slowly falling apart within.
Because heartbreak is invisible.
Yet its weight can be felt in every breath.
Love can become the reason someone smiles.
And sometimes,
love can become the reason someone forgets how.
Not because loving was a mistake.
But because some hearts loved so deeply that they never learned how to carry the emptiness that followed.
So can someone become sick because of love?
Maybe not from love itself.
But certainly from the grief,
the longing,
the silence,
and the absence of the person they loved most.
