Today, I came back to the place where we first met. I sat in the same chair where we once laughed together. I played some songs, listened to them while smoking. Yeah I know you don’t like me when I’m smoking, right?

I play songs from various genres, there are RnB, pop punk, rock, metal, and of course some love songs. But somehow, you always come to mind whenever I listen to the music.

As the music played. I smiled faintly because I remember the way you used to smile, the way you saw the world, the scent of your perfume: clean, soft, like early mornings and something warm. Maybe I adored you a little too much, even without knowing why. I thought of you immediately. I thought of us.

I still believe that in another world, in another time, we might have tried harder. And maybe, just maybe, we would’ve made it.

Music has a way of taking me back to places I thought I had left behind. A simple melody, a familiar lyric, and suddenly, I’m somewhere else, somewhere where you still exist, untouched by time, unchanged by distance.

It happens without warning. A song plays, and my heart skips the way it used to when I saw your name light up my phone.

The lyrics unfold, and suddenly, I’m lost in memories, memories of conversations, of late-night thoughts we never fully voiced, of the way you felt impossibly close even when miles stretched between us. Do you ever feel it, too?

Do you ever hear a song and think of me? Does a certain chorus make your chest ache the way mine does when I hear the ones that remind me of you? Or have you moved on without leaving a trace of me in your playlists?

I don’t think I ever told you how much music meant to me, how much we meant to me. How every moment, every feeling, had a soundtrack playing quietly in the background, whether you knew it or not.

Some songs remind me of how easy it was to talk to you, how natural it felt. They make me think of the way we exchanged words like lyrics, back and forth, until it felt like we had written our unspoken song. And then there are the other ones. The ones that feel heavier now. The ones I used to love but can’t listen to the same way anymore.

Because now, they don’t just carry melodies; they carry the weight of things left unsaid, of messages left unanswered, of the slow, silent way distance took over.

It’s strange, isn’t it? How a song can hold so much of a person. How a melody can bring back not just the memories but the feelings too, the way it felt to know you, the way it felt to lose you.

Maybe you don’t tie people to songs the way I do. Maybe you’ve untangled me from every note, every lyric, every playlist I once thought belonged to both of us. But if there’s even one song, one chorus, one melody, that makes you stop and think of me, even if just for a second, I hope you don’t skip it. Because I don’t. I let it play. Every time.

So, tell me, have you ever heard a song and thought of someone you can’t reach anymore?

For me, there is always a song that reminds you of someone you love. The melody lingers in your heart, carrying the essence of shared moments and cherished memories. Each note feels like a whisper from the past, bringing comfort in the midst of sadness. The lyrics speak to me in a way that no other words can.

I seem to hear your laughter, your words and the warmth of your presence. It’s as if the song is a bridge between the past and the present , allowing me to feel your spirit close , even if only for a few minutes. In those moments , I feel as though you are right there beside me, and the world doesn’t seem so empty.

I close my eyes and let the memories wash over me, feeling grateful for the time we had. As the song plays, I find comfort in the thought that you are never truly gone, for your spirit dances with the music, forever a part of my heart and soul. Until we meet again, maybe.
