Title: My First Heartbreak Was Never a Love Story
It started with fights.
In school, there was a boy I couldn’t stand. We were always competing — marks, ranks, everything. We annoyed each other, argued, and tried to prove who was better.
We were like enemies.
But somewhere between all those fights, things slowly changed.
He started noticing when I was upset. If I cried, it affected him. He would crack stupid jokes just to make me smile. We never became proper friends, but we weren’t enemies anymore either.
Something existed… undefined.
And then one day, he disappeared.
New session started, and he was absent. At first, I thought it was normal. But days turned into weeks. Then I heard from someone that he had changed schools.
No goodbye.
No explanation.
Nothing.
I told myself, “It’s okay.”
But it wasn’t.
As days passed, I started feeling a strange emptiness. Like I had lost something important without even realizing its value before.
I began missing him every single day.
Whenever something happened, my first thought was — “If he were here…”
That’s when I understood something I had never felt before.
Attachment.
I didn’t even know when it happened, but I was deeply attached to someone I never even called a friend.
I cried alone.
I missed him in silence.
I had so many questions — Why did he leave? Why didn’t he tell me?
And strangely… I was angry too.
I hated the fact that he left without saying a word. I never even got a chance to talk to him properly.
But deep inside, I knew the truth — it hurt because he mattered.
Those days were difficult. My studies suffered. I started staying absent. I had no one to share this with.
I handled everything alone.
Until one day, life gave me someone who changed everything — a friend who became my strength, my lesson, my support.
She taught me how to heal, how to handle emotions, and how to move forward.
Because of her, I am stronger today.
And maybe that’s why I made a promise to myself —
never to get attached to someone so deeply again.
Even now… a small part of me still wonders —
What if we meet again?
After 5 years… we did.
