❤

As previously mentioned in my last post, I am recently single, and what I have now realised as a newly single 20 year old is that men can ruin a beautiful thing in seconds.

Specifically, I am talking about my bedroom (although it can be applied in many circumstances!) and how when my boyfriend at the time would enter my gorgeous, clean room it would instantly become a nightmare.

It became filled with what I like to call ‘boy-mess’, 3 half drunk Pepsi’s in different corners of the room, a can of Monster, socks and shoes that reek scattered across the floor, and a strange wet dog smell (that I am hoping is specific to the boy that I was with and not all of them, though I don’t have high hopes).

I am writing this because as I have healed from this breakup I am just so appreciative of my own space now. He was always around, and yes at the time I wanted him to be, but OMG I LOVE MY ROOM AND I LOVE BEING ALONE.

I love the smell, the lights, all my cute toys and my pretty bedsheets!

I love going to sleep in my room by myself! I love putting on whatever I want to watch and sleeping with my stuffed animals. I love being able to have a proper routine at night-time, do my skincare and and brush my hair.

I love that even if it’s messy, it’s my mess, and I chose for it to be there.

I cleared out a lot of space for him when we were together, draws for his own clothes, his own decorations, his vinyl’s and record player were on my book shelf, keep in mind I don’t live in my own apartment it’s just my bedroom.

I wanted him to want to be here, to feel at home and wanted cause I didn’t feel like he was getting that from his own family.

The thing is…it just wasn’t appreciated.

I think all the unappreciation he had inside himself has transferred over to me and has made me 1 million more times appreciative of my beautiful space.

I love my room!!
