according to Gary Chapman’s theory, love has 5 language of meaning. however, as many people as there are in this world, there are just as many love languages. this is an insights i gained from a k-drama i recently watched on Netflix.
each person is a unique individual. even if you share the same nationality, use and speak the same mother language, you still may not understand each other. as a result, if you want to understand one person, you need to learn their language, choose to learn with curiosity.
love is not just a feeling, it is an action. love is a choice. love is the only language that doesn’t come with a manual. you cannot convince someone to understand you. it’s a personal choice, not the result of effort. you have to be willing to sound like a fool until you get it right. it happens the same with learning as a foreign language.
many people give up on relationships because of “miscommunication,” but even miscommunication is a natural part of the learning process, isn’t it?
some people consider the four-leaf clover a lucky charm, bringing hope, faith, luck, and love. they collect them and hope their beliefs will come true. for others, it’s simply an ordinary leaf, meaningless. it all depends on which perspective you choose to observe.
true intimacy happens when you stop listening to the wrong thoughts about yourself and start saying what you’re really thinking in your head. it’s terrifying for sure but do not get trapped in your head forever. if you can overthink the worst, why can’t you overthink the best?
healing begins when you stop running from yourself and embrace the pain. first, you need to allow yourself to be vulnerable, and accept it. if you do not accept yourself as you are, who will? you confront the demons that triggers you and decide to stand up and face it instead of running away. you will stuck in the same loop if you keep create your problems in your head.
stop assuming you know what the other person means. you don’t. be brave enough to ask and do no take everything personally. it it important.
you will get hurt when you receive the rejection but you will be fine in the end. or you will be less afraid when you realize that many people out there experience the same feelings and emotions as you. emotions come and go, even the word emotions has motion itselfs. how beautiful language is.
in the end, you are just a human being. you want someone choose you and stay with you. there is nothing wrong about it. but remember one thing, you need to be comfortable with yourself first.
be friend with yourself
stay with yourself
encourage yourself when things get hard
believe me, one of the skills you should learn and practice every single day is motivating yourself. no one will do it for you. speak your own language to yourself first.
you will be okay sweetheart. say i love you to yourself everyday, good morning, good night, good day you deserve it babeeee
because why not? what is stoping you anyway?
