After establishing her Savvy Bridal boutiques as essential wedding gown destinations for brides in Kansas City and St. Louis, founder Imene McCoy set her sights closer to the ocean. A little more than a decade after launching her first boutique, McCoy opened the doors to her third: A refined showroom filled with exquisite designer dresses in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
While the culture and atmosphere of South Florida differ from the midwestern cities where the brand began, the expansion was a natural choice, says McCoy. “I was especially drawn to cities where I saw a similar opportunity—vibrant, growing communities with stylish, modern brides who were looking for that perfect balance of luxury, affordability, and personal attention,” she says. “Fort Lauderdale allowed us to bring Savvy’s signature style to a coastal market where brides are often looking for something a little different—effortlessly chic, sophisticated, and fun.”
The moment when a bride looks in the mirror and sees herself—not just in a dress, but in the dress—you can see it in her eyes, the way her whole demeanor changes. It’s pure magic, and we live for that moment.
While the shop’s design recreates the chic black-and-white aesthetic of the other locations, purposeful choices—like modern globe-cluster chandeliers, gold accents, and blush-colored seating—give the space its own sense of vintage glamour. More than 300 gowns from Madi Lane, Justin Alexander, Essence of Australia, Capsule Bridal, and Anora Bridal blend timeless silhouettes with fresh, on-trend details—deep v-necks, embellished tulle wraps, delicate straps, illusion lace, corsets and draping. (The shop also stocks a “Ready to Wed” section with gowns brides can take home the same day—no four-to-six-month wait time required.) While the showroom is open by appointment only, brides can add themselves to a waitlist for days that are already filled.
Even with two other locations to oversee—and numerous brides to assist—McCoy continues to cherish being part of her clients’ wedding experience. “The moment when a bride looks in the mirror and sees herself—not just in a dress, but in the dress—you can see it in her eyes, the way her whole demeanor changes,” says McCoy. “It’s pure magic, and we live for that moment.”
