Anger is the progeny of fear. People resort to anger with a misconception of being in control when they feel intimidated by people or situation. In reality, anger has no power; it is a weakening element for your spirit, and throws your mental equilibrium in disarray — a veritable sign of insecurity.

A person who is overcome by rage is temporary disoriented. He becomes vulnerable to the negative entities which take over his mind provoking him to commit acts of violence and terror. And most of the crimes have been committed in a fit of incensed anger.

Anger causes a lot of disturbance at the psychological and physical levels. It quickens your heart-rate and raises your blood-pressure, which could well lead to heart-related diseases in the long run.

However, you are not obliged to live at the mercy of your temperament. Here are some of the tips which can help you deal with anger.

Be consciously aware of your anger.

The moment you feel anger rising in you under a provoking situation, be aware of your feelings. Acknowledge your anger and ask what purpose it has come to serve. Listen for the answer, then allow it to subside before reacting to your situation.

Your conscious-awareness acts as a guard preventing you from being taken over by your emotions, and you will be grateful for having dealt with your lot with responsibility.

Acknowledge your feelings.

Do not pretend you are not angry. Instead, gently say to yourself:

“I am feeling hurt.”

“I am insulted.”

“I am feeling disappointed.”

Recognizing and addressing the emotion directly reduces its grip over your mind.

Take a pause

Similarly, when caught up in a heated argument where tempers are rising, stop and take a pause. The pause has the veritable power to quell the swelling emotions of anger within you.

Take a slow, deep breath. Give yourself permission not to respond immediately. The pause is a needle that punctures the inflated surge of anger.

You will immediately feel your anger ebbing out as you show who is in charge.

Play a losing game

Play a losing game to your rivals who revel in the ego-games. Paradoxically, your victory is in losing when you opt for peace. You are in this world to play a winning game for your soul and not for your ego. So, whenever you find that you are getting involved with your ego and the ego-selves of others, just back out from the fray. It doesn’t matter who is right or who is wrong. All that matter is your inner peace. Let them have their way.

The ego hates to lose; it hates to be side-tracked; it hates compromise and co-operation; it hates to be monitored.

The awareness plays the role of cautioning your anger: “I’m watching you. So be careful!”

As you continue to ignore the demands of your ego, it will eventually, ebb out of your being, making space for your Higher Self to take its place. You are then free to make the right choices in keeping with your deep, inner peace and joy.

Anger has never led to peaceful solutions be it at the personal, national or global level. Anger feeds anger and spreads like wild-fire if not checked in time. It only aggravates and worsens a situation. A mild, ordinary situation when blown out of proportion spins completely out of control, causing untold destruction to life and limb, while spreading terror and fear to everyone around.

This sort of a thing usually ends up in greater destruction to life and limb, spreading terror and fear to everyone around. Most of all, it consumes your spirit and enfeebles you.

Anger, fear and so on are the negative energies that secrete harmful toxins in your body which can corrode your etheric body in the long run and make you vulnerable to the negative energies and entities prevailing around you. Your etheric body is a shield that prevents entry of the untoward energies and therefore care should be taken to keep it strong and healthy.

Simple Exercises to Maintain Continual Peace

Daily meditation

Meditation plays an important role to ensure peace and calm within you. Meditation helps regulate your breathing and draws in greater quantities of the Universal Light into your being. The Light enforces peace and well-being. Fears cease to exist in the Light of Peace and you automatically become calm and composed in the face of your ordeals. You are able to handle your issues with responsibility and make better choices which are for your highest good.

Pranayama

Pranayama is yet another powerful exercise which helps regulate your breathing and promotes healthy circulation of prana to every part of your being. This helps in cleansing your being of all toxins and spiritual poisons from your etheric body thus raising your vibrational frequency. You thus begin to feel lighter and more peaceful within.

Besides making your body lean and flexible, workouts and yoga help to release toxins and promote fresh supply of energy and a healthy blood circulation.

Setting Boundaries

Set your boundaries against people who live off your vital energy and rob you of your much-needed peace. These are the ones who come in the guise of “best friends” to manipulate you, to control you and continue you to tell you how to live for “your own good”.

Forgiveness

Forgive all past experiences of hurt and pain. Forgive yourself and those who tormented you.

Forgiveness is the power that can snap all unhealthy bonds and restore deep inner peace.

Conclusion

The next time you begin to feel anger surging through you, go within and hold the torch of compassion to it until it completely dissolves into the Light.

Anger cannot survive in a being which is ablaze with the dazzling light of love and joy.
