When people hear the words “toxic relationship,” many people think it will be the men who is toxic or abusive.

And sometimes that’s true, but it’s not the whole picture.

There are also relationships where the unhealthy patterns come from the other side, and those stories don’t get talked about as often. This article is about one of those patterns.

It’s written from a man’s point of view. I’m not saying all women behave this way, But some do. And if you’ve experienced it, you know how confusing it can be.

When Emotional Distance Becomes a Pattern

People pull away for real reasons sometimes. Stress, hurt, feeling overwhelmed, needing space. That’s normal, and it happens to everyone regardless of gender.

But some women do this deliberately, whether they fully admit it to themselves or not, as a way to keep a partner off balance and in control.

This doesn’t mean every quiet mood or bad day is a tactic. Most distance is just distance. What matters is the pattern, not the single moment.
