Sometimes, life can be tough.
If you live with anxiety, depression, mental illness, chronic pain, or any other mental health condition, there will be days when you’ve had enough. You may feel fed up, tired, and worn out, and you might even want to quit.
The other day, I was having one of those days. I had this thought, “This is just how I feel sometimes.” I didn’t immediately feel better, and my life didn’t suddenly change. However, there was a subtle shift. I thought, “Huh, that’s true. Why do I fight this so hard and feel so angry, sad, and frustrated? What if I just accepted this as a fact? This is just how I feel sometimes.”
It’s funny how stuck we can get into thinking a particular way. We do something, experience something over and over again, and we fail to see it from a new angle. Obviously, this is where quality coaching or therapy can be a useful tool. Another person can ask questions and help you see things differently. Once we’ve seen things from a new angle, we can begin to shift our thinking.
Sometimes, I feel a disconnect between my physical sensations and my overall well-being. There are moments when I feel great, present, and happy, while other times, I feel less than perfect. I’ve noticed a small resentment towards these moments when I don’t feel great…
