Author Liu Liu wrote in her novel “My Sunshine”: “Liking is judging; love is backing you up.”
In life, we all face challenges.
The person who truly loves you will back you up without hesitation. They want to be your strong support, not leave you feeling like an isolated island, helpless.
The person who truly understands you won’t twist your words. When you say, “I’m so tired, I’m so sad,” they won’t mock you, saying, “You’re so lucky, you don’t know it.”
The person who truly cares about you won’t just push their own opinions or lecture you when you need comfort and attention. Instead, they’ll grasp your unspoken struggles and empathize with the hardships you’ve endured.
Psychologist Wu Zhihong once said, “Everyone’s true needs long to be seen.”
I couldn’t agree more.
We all want to be seen, understood, and accepted.
When I’m feeling down and complaining about how tough things are, I want a warm hug.
After I open up, I want affirmation and acceptance, not overanalyzing or misinterpretation.
Even if the whole world turns against me, you’re still willing to back me up.
