Even though Kate Middleton celebrated her 14th wedding anniversary with Prince William at the end of April, the royal still may be reminiscing on her big day. On May 8, 2025, Kate appeared in chic bridal-inspired separates for a concert at the Horse Guards Parade in honor of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. The princess attended the show alongside William, King Charles, and Queen Camilla. The event, which had 12,000 attendees, featured a number of performances by famous singers, including Samantha Barks, Fleur East, John Newman and Calum Scott, as well as multiple tributes to those who served in World War II.

For the occasion, Kate paired a belted jacket with a pleated long skirt that included lace detailing. The all-white ensemble echoed a current popular look in the world of wedding fashion: bridal separates. However, that wasn’t the only trend the royal decided to lean into with her outfit. In addition to accessorizing with neutral-hued high heels, a black clutch, a set of pearl necklaces, and oversized stud earrings, the princess added a statement black bow to her half-up, half-down hairstyle. Earlier this week, Sofia Richie also embraced the rising bridal trend, donning a sleek dress to the Met Gala that featured a dramatic, oversized bow. Kate’s inclusion of the black velvet accessory to her look added a touch of playfulness to the fashion-forward ensemble.

Earlier in the day, Kate donned a different outfit to the Service of Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey, an event to honor those who fought in World War II. For that occasion, the royal also opted for a bridal-inspired look, wearing a long-sleeved white dress with black polka dots. She paired the piece with a small purse, brown high heels, and a black fascinator. Throughout the day, Kate’s famous sapphire engagement ring, which once belong to Princess Diana, was displayed on her left ring finger. Over the past year, the princess has sometimes opted to swap the heirloom sparkler out in favor of a ring stack.
Kate’s presence at both events showcased her return to her royal duties after her cancer diagnosis last year. After months of chemotherapy, on September 9, 2024, the princess announced that she had completed treatment and was looking forward to coming back to work. “The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
