How can we miss a person who…

We once loved so deeply.

A person who also loved us so much, yet we ended up hurting each other. Finding 1001 reasons to make the situation painful for both sides. And eventually… missing it?

What is it that we’re missing?

The memories?

The person?

Or, the guilt?

It’s very real, very confusing.

Emotional looping.

Because when shit ends and both people were hurt, especially, when love was once strong, the loss becomes complicated. You’re not just missing them as a person. You’re also missing,

that version of yourself,

that familiarity of the memories,

And you’re always wrestling with guits or ‘what ifs’

Love, and hurt, mixed. So the longing becomes layered. Mourn the potential that it didn’t happen.

Feels neavy and unclear, right?

Feel it.

That was what they felt once when you choose to leave. Losing someone will feel like losing part of yourself.

And your situation, fits into each stage; denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally the acceptance.

Yes, you’re not just missing the person.

You’re grieving.

Sometimes, you deserve to feel unforgiven, useless, shaking under the weight of your guilt.

Don’t

ever

disturb

them.

Even if you still remember their scent,

their favorite color,

their favorite flower,

or even the name of their favorite pet.

They’ve already spent enough of their time, painfully enough, to being hurt by someone like you.

Always give them space, from people like you.

They deserve to heal.

It hurts. It’s complex.

But it’s what you deserve.

You have to learn to live with it too.
