After a one-and-a-half year engagement, it appears that Demi Lovato and Jordan “Jutes” Lutes are planning to tie the knot in the coming weeks. The couple reportedly plans to say “I do” over Memorial Day weekend, according to TMZ. The two, who have been together since 2022, first crossed paths in January of that year while collaborating on the making of Lovato’s song “Substance.” The musician immediately caught the singer’s attention. “He came into the session, and I literally was like, ‘Who is this guy?,’” she said on a September 2023 episode of the LadyGang podcast.

Lutes, a musician, proposed to the pop star in December 2023 with a pear-shaped diamond designed by Material Good, a New York-based jeweler. After the intimate moment, the two celebrated their milestone with their families at one of their favorite Los Angeles restaurants, People reported. However, even though the couple hasn’t disclosed many details surrounding their big day, they have dropped some hints about what to expect. In an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in September 2024, Lovato, who uses she/they pronouns, revealed more about the engagement—and the duo’s wedding-planning process. “We have been planning the wedding for quite some time now,” the singer told Fallon. “We got engaged in December and met with a wedding planner, like, a month later.” While the songwriter hasn’t revealed the expert she and her fiancé hired to orchestrate the celebration, BRIDES editors have noticed that Lovato follows celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss on Instagram.

The couple hasn’t revealed any of their vendors they’re using for their celebration. However, the duo did hire celebrity photographer Jose Villa to shoot their engagement photos, fueling speculation that Villa may also be in charge of capturing their big day. The couple both follow the photographer on Instagram.

No. When asked by Fallon if she planned to perform at her nuptials, the “Cool for the Summer” said she was not. “I want this to feel not anything like work,” she added.
